Struve Geodetic Arc Point “Jēkabpils”, included in UNESCO World Heritage List

Called the Crown Garden during the first independence, it was a popular recreation and entertainment location with wealthier residents. The park has become famous with its station of the geodetic ark measured by the professor of Tartu University, astronomer and geodesist Wilhelm von Struve. The Struve Geodetic Arc is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
